VOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY: JANUARY CAREER FAIRS

IT’S A NEW YEAR, AND THERE ARE ALREADY SOME EXCITING CAREER EVENTS HAPPENING IN THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS.

You may be thinking that people still in school wouldn’t be interested in a “job fair”. But it can be very helpful to see who’s hiring and learn what fields are in-demand. That can be accomplished by browsing program materials, but we’d also suggest taking the step to attend. At a real career event, students could learn more…and perhaps even practice their interviewing skills. A career fair provides the chance to talk to people in industries students are interested in. Students can ask all their burning questions to people who best know the answer to the question, “What does it take to get hired as a _____ in Hawai’i?”

Who knows? Students may even find a position they can start right away or soon after graduating.
