Updates from Hōkūpaʻa

Our youth are the future stewards of our lands and our people; it is in all of our interest to prepare them, nurturing them to be ready for what's ahead. This work cannot be done without the collective efforts of our community, together.

This month, we’re focusing on coming together to improve our learning systems. That’s why we’re proud to share a little about the third annual Puakalehua Early Learning Conference we helped to host, and are looking ahead to a chance to share community input for the Board of Education’s strategic planning.

Bright Spots: Stories of Impact
3rd Annual Puakalehua Early Learning Conference

After months of preparation, Hōkūpaʻa was excited to cohost a workshop on managing challenging classroom behaviors with over 70 people!

Hōkūpaʻa and the Consortium want to thank all the presenters, planners, and event facilitators. By working together across organizations, the Consortium was able to once again uplift the early learning community with this free, accessible event. We all look forward to next year’s conference!

Puakalehua Early Learning Consortium is a collective impact group dedicated to the advancement of all aspects of Early Learning in North and West Hawai'i. Hōkūpaʻa is a proud member of the Consortium’s steering committee because we believe that early learning supports lifelong learning and thriving.

Our complex area is Honokaa-Kealakehe-Kohala-Konawaena. Its meeting is scheduled on November 9th, 2022, from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Kealakehe High School Library.
