A lot, based on the number of food-related projects we saw last week at the West Hawaiʻi Science & Engineering Fair! We also are pleased to share that the Kaukau 4 Keiki USDA summer food service program distributions are opening for registration very soon.

Kaukau 4 Keiki

Vibrant Hawai‘i’s Kaukau 4 Keiki summer food distributions are opening for registration next week, February 23rd - March 1st.

These grocery hauls include plenty of local produce and are designed around easy-to-make meal ideas for keiki up to age 18, as well as adult students with disabilities, so long as they are not enrolled in other USDA summer meal programs. This could be a good option for families that can’t travel to schools that offer summer meals, or those that prefer to prepare meals at home.

Families will be notified of decisions on June 1st, and distributions run from June 22nd - July 31st.
