Updates from Hōkūpaʻa

In last month’s newsletter, we called this a winter full of ʻohana and keiki-friendly community events. Although the cold weather is waning, that trend continues with a little more of a teen focus.

This month, we’re featuring two different types of learning opportunities: our experience volunteering at a Hawaiʻi Island DECA business student competition, and the upcoming Mahina ʻŌlelo event which is open to all. Business and Hawaiian language exploration can certainly go together, and both are valuable to youth and their communities!

The Hawaiian language thrives! The Ola Ka ʻĪ series of Hawaiian Language Month events is coming to Kona thanks to our friends at Kamehameha Schools.

Saturday March 1st, 2025. 9:00am-3:00pm at Keauhou Shopping Center

All are welcome to this free, ʻohana-friendly celebration of Hawaiian language and culture, including entertainment, games, food, shopping, and more.
