Updates from Hōkūpaʻa

Next month, May, is Mental Health Awareness Month! We are big proponents of community connection as positive contributors to young peoples’ social and emotional well. And it’s good for others in the community to connect with youth, too!

This month, we’re featuring a community-school art project, as well as a chance to connect with the local Marshallese community at a fun family event.

Featured Event:
Marshallese Constitution Day

Our friends at Next Steps Committee are helping Big Island Marshallese Community Association with their Constitution Day event. This celebration is all about Marshallese culture and community connections. There will be games, performances, and food!

The event is Friday 05/05/23, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Kona’s Old Airport park.

Everyone is welcome to attend as members of the public. Agencies interested in hosting a booth to share their resources and services can RSVP by emailing Hawaii Island Community Health Center.
